Plant-Based Diets for Your Pet's Health

We chose plant-based for health. Dogs are omnivores, which means they can get all of their nutrients from a complete and balanced plant-based diet. Dogs have nutrient requirements, not ingredient requirements! They can thrive on a plant-based diet for the same reasons we thrive: plants give dogs all the protein and nutrients they need — in fact, more! — without the contamination risks and diseases associated with animal protein.

We know from our own diets that commercial meat – full of pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, and other harmful contaminants – is making us sick. It causes cancer, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, allergies, among other conditions. This is the same for our pets! It comes down to the food we eat.

Even the most premium pet foods, which do better by using “human-grade” meat from factory farmed animals, fall short of what our pets deserve. Concerns about “human-grade” meat have made humans more conscious about eating more plants and less meat entirely. It’s time to apply those same concerns to our fur kids.

More plants and less meat is healthier
for your pets and better for the planet.

Plant-Based Diets for The Planet

We’re feeding more plants and less meat for the planet, too. If the US pet food industry was ranked as its own country for meat consumption, it would rank number 5 in the world – behind the U.S., China, Russia, and Brazil.

Bramble is healthier, cleaner and sustainable. Finally, a healthy and trusted way to include our pets in the food revolution.

What is a Plant-Based Diet?

At Bramble, we consider following a plant-based diet to mean eating mostly whole foods (meaning, non-processed), made of mostly plant foods. Unlike vegan diets, the emphasis of a plant-based diet is not only on eating more plants and less animals, but also on eating more non-processed food. Plant-based food has come a long way! Our recipes give dogs all the savory meaty flavor, taste and textures they love, but entirely from whole food, plant ingredients!

Just in the same way people can thrive eating more plant-based, dogs can as well! Our recipes are formulated by board-certified veterinary nutritionists and expert animal nutritionists to ensure your fur kids get all the protein and nutrients they need. So our recipes are the ideal choice for introducing your beloved dog to a plant-based diet that is good for their health while lowering your environmental paw print!
