It's Simple.

More plants and less meat is healthier for your pets and better for the planet.

Plants for your Pet's Health

We chose plant-based for health. Dogs are omnivores, which means they can get all of their nutrients from a complete and balanced plant-based diet. Dogs have nutrient requirements, not ingredient requirements! They can thrive on a plant-based diet for the same reasons we thrive: plants give dogs all the protein and nutrients they need — in fact, more! — without the contamination risks and diseases associated with animal protein.

We know from our own diets that commercial meat – full of pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, and other harmful contaminants – is making us sick. It causes cancer, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, allergies, among other conditions. This is the same for our pets! It comes down to the food we eat.

Even the most premium pet foods, which do better by using “human-grade” meat from factory farmed animals, fall short of what our pets deserve. Concerns about “human-grade” meat have made humans more conscious about eating more plants and less meat entirely. It’s time to apply those same concerns to our fur kids.

Plants for the Planet

We’re feeding more plants and less meat for the planet, too. If the US pet food industry was ranked as its own country for meat consumption, it would rank number 5 in the world – behind the U.S., China, Russia, and Brazil.

Why Fresh

We believe in feeding our pets whole, fresh food for the same reason we believe in feeding ourselves this way: whole, clean food made with real ingredients is better in quality, digestibility and taste. The fresher, less processed the food, the higher the nutritional value – for ourselves, and our pets!

Most “healthy” commercial pet food is highly processed, and contains chemicals, preservatives, and indigestible ingredients. Many consist of meat that is unfit for human consumption and low-quality ingredients that are hard to trust.

Just like our own diets, feeding pets a fresh, gently-cooked, whole food diet – even just in part – can have a big impact on your pet’s health. With a fresh food diet, you will notice significant improvements, such as: healthier, shinier coat; well-formed/not dry stool; greater energy; brighter eyes. A fresh food diet can also clear up many ailments, such as allergies and even distemper.

The best part about feeding fresh food? Your pets love it!
