Frequently Asked Questions
Why Fresh Food?
Bramble’s recipes are gently cooked to ensure they maintain their optimal nutrient capacity. We believe in feeding a fresh, whole food diet for dogs for the same reason we believe in feeding ourselves this way: whole, clean food made with real ingredients is better in quality, digestibility and taste. The fresher, less processed the food, the higher the nutritional value – for ourselves and our pets!
A fresh, whole food diet will do wonders for your fur kid! Even “healthy” kibbles are highly processed and contain a lot of preservatives and chemicals. Once your dog acclimates to more fresh, preservative-free, whole foods, you can expect to see:
Well-formed stool (the added moisture!)
Feeding a fresh, gently-cooked, whole food diet – even just in part – can have a big impact on your pet’s health.
Does your food meet AAFCO standards?
Bramble’s recipes are formulated to meet – and exceed! – the standards set by AAFCO’s Dog Nutrient Profiles for Adult Life Maintenance. Our food contains a customized nutrient blend to ensure our recipes are complete and balanced.
Who formulates your recipes?
Our recipes have been formulated by board-certified veterinary nutritionists and expert animal nutritionists with decades of experience in pet food formulation.

Once your order ships, you will receive an email with tracking information.
Can I change my shipping schedule?
Yes! You can login to your account and choose to receive your shipments every 2, 4 or 6 weeks.
Please note that changing your shipping schedule will not change the overall amount of food you will receive. Based on your dog’s weight and other factors you provide, as well as whether you choose a half or full subscription, we send the amount of food your dog requires. Changing your shipping frequency will only affect how often you receive food, to help you manage storage and other factors you wish to control.
Can I cancel or pause my subscription?
Yes! You can manage deliveries and your shipping schedule by logging into your account. You can also pause or cancel your subscription anytime!
What is Bramble’s return policy?
We cannot accept returns since our meals are fresh and perishable. But if you are unhappy with your pet’s meals, please let us know and we will offer refunds on a case by case basis.
Is your packaging recyclable and environmentally friendly?
Our boxes and premium insulating liners are made from fully recyclable materials designed to keep your pup’s meals fresh and safe in transit, while also reducing our carbon pawprint.
How much does it cost to feed fresh food?
The cost of feeding Bramble depends on your pet’s weight, age and activity level. We also offer half-subscriptions, less frequent deliveries, and the option to pause or cancel at anytime. We don’t hide the fact that feeding fresh, whole foods made up of high-quality human-grade ingredients will cost more than feeding a processed diet of low-quality ingredients. Investing in your pet’s health now means less illness later. Get your personalized plan now.
How do I store Bramble?
Bramble ships frozen so you can store the food in the freezer and defrost as needed. Bramble ships in vacuum sealed pouches making it easy to store! The food can also be stored unopened in the fridge for up to one week. Once opened, Bramble will last in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Your Pet’s Health
How can I be sure that Bramble is healthy?
Our recipes are formulated by board certified veterinary nutritionists and expert animal nutritionists to be complete and balanced. But we don’t stop there. In addition to the guaranteed nutrient analysis that you see on the label, we test our recipes for the full amino acid profile and score, as well as the protein bioavailability and digestibility. This means that we test our recipes to ensure that they contain the intended protein and nutrients. Dogs have nutrient requirements, not ingredient requirements, and we make sure that Bramble contains all the nutrients your beloved pet needs from the highest quality sources.
Is Bramble suitable for pets with certain medical conditions?
We don’t currently offer prescription diets, but we are happy to discuss your pet’s individual needs and speak directly with our board-certified veterinary nutritionists to see whether Bramble is the right fit. We also recommend consulting with your own veterinarian as that have your pet’s full medical history and know your pet’s specific dietary needs.
Can I cook homemade meals for my dog?
We love encouraging people to cook for their dogs – it is a great way to care for your fur child! However, if your homemade preparations are a regular part of your dog’s diet, it is important to ensure your pet is getting the exact nutrients they need. Unfortunately, homemade diets often lack the appropriate nutrition.
Bramble’s fresh dog food recipes are expertly formulated to be complete and balanced and then lab tested to ensure they contain all the intended nutrients, so you can be sure you’re feeding your pup fresh, plant-based food with the right amount of nutrition.
Why should I feed Bramble?
Built by a dog mom, we are committed to providing a whole food, plant-based diet, using the highest quality, trustworthy ingredients. We believe in feeding this way because it is healthier, cleaner, sustainable and kinder. We will always put health and transparency first.
