We know from our own diets that commercial meat – full of pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, and other harmful contaminants – is making us sick. Even the most premium pet foods, which claim to do better by using “human-grade” meat, fall short of what our pets deserve. “Human-grade” does not mean high quality. “Human-grade” still refers to animals raised in large-scale feeding lots, under stressed and confined conditions, leading to their own health problems. Concerns about “human-grade” meat have made humans more conscious about eating more plants and less meat entirely. It’s time to apply those same concerns to our fur kids.

What is a Plant-Based Diet?
At Bramble, we consider following a plant-based diet to mean eating mostly whole foods (meaning, non-processed), made of mostly plant foods. Unlike vegan diets, the emphasis of a plant-based diet is not only on eating more plants and less animals, but also on eating more non-processed food. In contrast, vegan dog food is often highly processed kibble or wet dog food.
