We know from our own diets that commercial meat – full of pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, and other harmful contaminants – is making us sick. It causes cancer, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, allergies, among other health problems. This is the same for our pets! It comes down to the food we eat.
Even the most premium pet foods, which claim to do better by using “human-grade” meat, fall short of what our pets deserve. “Human-grade” does not mean high quality. “Human-grade” still refers to animals raised in large-scale feeding lots, under stressed and confined conditions, leading to their own health problems. Concerns about “human-grade” meat have made humans more conscious about eating more plants and less meat entirely. Now we can apply those same concerns to our fur kids.

What is a Plant-Based Diet?
At Bramble, we consider following a plant-based diet to mean eating mostly whole foods (meaning, non-processed), made of mostly plant foods. Unlike vegan diets, the emphasis of a plant-based diet is not only on eating more plants and less animals, but also on eating more non-processed food. In contrast, vegan dog food is often highly processed kibble or wet dog food.
That’s why we call Bramble a plant-based pet food! We gently cook our whole food ingredients to maintain their maximum nutritional punch! Bramble is a high protein pet food — with more high quality protein than most dog foods containing animal products.
