Yes! Also known as the Association of American Feed Control Officials, AAFCO sets the standards for both pet and animal foods throughout the United States. All pet foods, including hypoallergenic dog foods, must meet standards established by AAFCO to be considered “complete and balanced.” Bramble’s recipes are formulated by a board-certified veterinary nutritionist to meet (and exceed!) the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for Adult Dog Maintenance.
The Cowbell is a high protein recipe with 32% protein on a dry matter basis. An independent feeding trial also showed that The Cowbell’s plant-based protein is just as bioavailable as the animal protein dog food it was compared to.
